While a somber day for the state of New York, the Governor’s resignation represents a small step forward, toward justice for survivors of sexual harassment in the workplace. Lieutenant Governor Hochul’s ascension as the State’s first woman Governor is a critical next step in the restoration of trust and transparency in Albany, but does not absolve individuals, elected or otherwise, or our institutions, from frequent and devastating failures to protect women. Isaacs Center stands with the courageous women who shared their stories and will continue to work closely with our State partners to actively support a just recovery for individuals and communities who have experienced systemic harm and historical trauma.
